Built by leaders.
Designed for impact.

Each of our partners has held the roles we now help fill, as CEO, as CHRO, on boards. That is why we know what those roles ask of a leader.

Ineke Kooistra
The CEO perspective

Ineke Kooistra

Ineke is a master at turning big ideas into reality.

She has been at the helm of companies for 25 years. Now she finds the leaders who can do the same.

For ten years she was CEO of YoungCapital. Under her leadership revenue grew from €60 million to €603 million, across twelve countries. She then led Switzerland-based Circle8 as Group CEO, a European HR tech group of €1.3 billion.

Ineke is a builder CEO. AI and data are not a slide in her deck, they are how she works. She builds her own tools and brings that builder mentality into every mandate, so she knows first-hand what AI asks of a leader. You will see it at ELiN: we work AI-driven and innovative. We like to surprise you.

At ELiN she also leads searches herself. She looks at candidates the way a CEO does: what must this person have achieved a year from now, and can they really do it? Sometimes the outcome is that you already have the right people.

Through InterManage she steps in as interim CEO and helps boards and leadership teams shape their multi-year strategy. She currently works with eighteen organisations, which keeps her close to what is happening at the top.

What she brings to ELiN: the CEO perspective of someone who has done it and still does.

Elbrich Batstra
The CHRO perspective

Elbrich Batstra

Elbrich is an experienced CHRO. She builds organisations in which people and business grow together.

At Monster.com she worked on the company’s international growth. At YoungCapital she was CHRO through the hyper-growth years. Today she advises companies through her own practice, People & Business Boutique.

Elbrich designs organisations and the HR strategy that goes with them. She also coaches leaders and works on culture and high-performing teams. She brings insights from neuroscience together with data and HR tech, and always keeps the human at the centre.

A theme she keeps returning to is the first ninety days of a new senior leader. She has spoken at HR Tech Europe and the Leadership in HR Summit, among others. With neuroscientist Marcia Goddard she led a roundtable on the human side of technology.

Her writing voice is unmistakable. In her Love Letter to the CEO series she writes open letters to founders, CEOs and final decision-makers, drawing on her years as CHRO: personal, direct, sometimes uncomfortable.

What she brings to ELiN: the CHRO perspective. She looks at the leader and also sees the team and the organisation around them.

What we believe · 05
01

Leadership is not a title. It is impact in a specific context.

We have seen brilliant leaders fail in the wrong context, and unremarkable CVs deliver extraordinary results in the right one. We read the context first, the leader second, and the fit between them most carefully of all.

02

Most leadership failures are diagnostic failures.

A founder who hires a professional CEO when what they actually needed was a strong COO. A board that replaces a CFO when the real problem lives in the operating model. We do diagnosis before we do search, every time.

03

Seasons change.

What a company needs in its leadership in one season is rarely what it needs in the next. The CEO who built the company is sometimes the CEO who scales it, and sometimes not. We help boards and founders see those moments early, and respond well.

Why we exist · 06

The traditional executive search firm grew out of recruitment. ELiN grew out of operating.

Founders no longer asked “find me a CFO.” They asked: “help me think through who I need around me for the next phase, and then help me bring them in.”

The work clients asked us for had begun to look more like architecture than recruitment. That work is what we do.
